Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One | Kylling Bridge sequence
I had the privilege to work on this amazing project as a generalist ( gen/environment ) artist! I was responsible for setting up the environment where the train crash is happening. The intended location was in Norway at the Kylling Bridge. I also had an opportunity to conceptualize some of the early key frames and look of certain shots within the location.
My tasks also included positioning of all main elements, building all vegetation assets, creating and helping out on various matte painting elements, setting up scattering systems for vegetation as well as any other element appearing in the scene ( rocks, dead trees, roots, moss etc ). I was then responsible for shading, lighting and rendering of the shots and passing them to the comp department.
The project went onto a major pause for several months and sadly I didn't have a chance to finish it off. The attached images ( cg environments with exception of fx ) are product of amazing efforts by ILM Sydney Gen team but some of the core elements, especially established mood, that I helped to create are still there.
